Want to Waste some Time

This guy is an amazing photographer. He is the individual responsible for shooting the s'mores buffet at the Winter Wonderland Wedding I noted in my last post.

He does some beautiful work.

Did I just find my wedding photographer?.....oh no.

Really. Seriously. Check out his stuff. It. is. F-a-b-u-l-o-u-s.

Wedding Inspiration: S'mores

Maybe it is time to switch careers to wedding planning.

I have always wanted a winter wedding. And what better to have at a winter wedding then s'mores!?

I am a huge fan of this delish yum-yum and it evokes memories of childhood and great family members of camping and river rafting through Idaho.

Last night I told a friend about my plan to have s'mores at my wedding. He seemed to think it was a good idea. I did some searching today to see what other people have done for s'mores at wedding and I must say...I found some classy stuff.

To start:

This wedding (minus the strange attire for the bride) looks fabulous and I love the photos of the s'mores ingredients: Winter Wonderland Wedding

I thought these were awesomely put together wedding favors.

And lastly...I think this could be a winner with some personalization for my own winter wonderland wedding.

Hmmm.... can anyone tell I have been on the knot.com one too many times recently!

Meeting Wyatt

Well as some of you must have noted by now I am the proud Aunt to my darling little nephew Wyatt. Born on June 9th, 2009 at 2:59 he weighed 6 lbs 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. After many many many weeks of waiting I was lucky enough for my parents to buy my a plane ticket to fly to Idaho to meet the little guy. It was an amazing trip. And I am so excited to have a new member of the family clan.

I flew in late on a Wednesday and spent Thursday morning with my mom, drinking coffee and playing with the poodle. I drove up to SV Thursday afternoon and got my first few hours with Wyatt.
Friday I just spent some more time with Nicole and Wyatt, we ventured out a little and Wyatt did great!

On Saturday we headed up north a bit further over beautiful Galena Summit to go boating with Jon and his sister, brother-in-law and twin nieces, and nephew. It was a beautiful day and Wyatt loved his boat ride and being outside in the sun! He also got to spend sometime with his cousins who absolutely loved him!

Sunday, Nicole and I went to breakfast and Wyatt just hung out in his baby bjorn like a trooper. We packed up the cars and then drove down to Boise to spend some time with the parents. Saturday night the parents cooked up some amazing shrimp fettuccine alfredo. I also was able to see on of my best friends, Kim, and we headed out to get some TCBY and then cruised around Boise to check out all the familiar places.

Monday was a day of errands. Although running errands when you have a darling baby and your amazing mom and sister with you really is so much more fun than anything I do on a regular basis in DC! We went to Babys R Us to get some stuff for Wyatt. Nicole found the most adorable sweater and cords outfit for the fall. And then we checked out some of the granite samples my mom is thinking about for the kitchen. After another great dinner of grilled salmon and a legendary bottle of Coastal Cooler I headed out to meet up with Mike, a friend from high school who I used to ski with. We had a really fun evening hitting up some of the bars downtown.

Tuesday came much too soon and I definitely shed some tears saying goodbye to Wyatt and my family. It was a long plane ride back and a hard few days getting back into the grove of things in DC. Wyatt is so special, and living so far away from him is definitely tearing up my heart!

But I had a great trip to Idaho and I can't wait to get back as soon as I possibly can!!

All Theo wanted to do was lick Wyatt from head to toe.

Hanging out with Grams.

Spending some time getting to know Creamy, my childhood stuffed animal that still goes everywhere with me.

I'm back

Wow so I really haven't blogged in almost a month. One quick little update, but I have seriously fallen off the blogging bandwagon. My life has gotten increasingly boring if anyone can believe that. (Well besides my new work schedule and the new love of my life Wyatt). Don't worry I will blog about my trip to Idaho and getting to meet, and fall-in-love with the man of dreams....also known as baby Wyatt.

As for work I am so blessed and very very happy to be working full-time hours. I have been helping out with payroll in addition to my HR tasks, so I have been able to come in the other two days a week that I usually have off. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy payroll. Accounting has never really been my thing. BUT...I actually do really enjoy it. I think it is something tangible. I get to see the "fruits of my labor" every time payroll is run. I have yet to complete the process by myself yet, but hopefully I will be handholding free in a few weeks so I am actually of use to people. Right now I feel like people kind of have to babysit me, which I know is a natural part of learning anything new, but still it is hard.

So in general work is going really well. I know I am so lucky to work for a company I really like with people I really enjoy. I must say that I think I let my job stress me out sometimes, but I think I let it because I don't really have anything else going on since I still feel like I am floundering socially here.

Other than work not a lot has changed besides my lack of "martha-stewart" days. Gone are the days of cooked meals (everything is trader joes, prepared meals) and things like scrapbooking and craftiness are gone. But as much as I enjoy down time...I honestly enjoy work more.

I have been using the apartment pool quite a bit, trying to swim some laps after work which is incredibly soothing. Dusk settling in and the peace and calm of the water. As you may suspect, I sleep like a baby.

Speaking of babies...tis the season.

While I will write more later about little Wyatt. Our friends had their baby boy just a few days after Wyatt, Felix. And my boss's darling baby girl is growing so fast! She came into work today and she is so adorable!!

I also officially have my plane ticket for Alli's wedding next month. I am so excited (and honored to be a bridesmaid) to celebrate this wonderful moment with her and Sean. I am going to get to be in Seattle for 5/6 days, which sounds blissful right now. I miss my friends so much it will be so great to get to see all of them!

Quick Post...Idaho Bound

I'll make this brief since I am super busy at the moment.

I have started working full time hours again with my company. I have stepped in to help out with running payroll. Although "Help Out" is a lose term for it considering that I feel like someone has to babysit me when I do it since I have no idea what I am doing. But it is a learning experience and I am ever grateful for the full-time hours. Splitting my time between HR and Payroll is kind of crazy and I normal eat lunch at my desks these days and work at home in the evenings sometimes just so I don't feel like I am falling too far behind in one area or another. I am really grateful as it seems like people in my company really want me here and are willing to let me take on this responsibility because they value me as a part of the company, which is a great feeling.

In other news I am finally traveling home to see WYATT! I am leaving tomorrow and will be in Idaho until next Tuesday. I am so so so ready to meet my nephew, see my sister, have some quality poodle time with the Theo dog, and see my wonderful family. I haven't been home since Christmas, or seen my dad since Christmas so I am very ready for this vacation.

I know I have been a major slacker on here recently, and I am hoping to get better about posting since while I may not do the most interesting things- it is nice to have a record of them.
